BIOGRAPHY I was born and raised in and around Enköping, Sweden, situated about an hour's drive from Sweden's capitol, Stockholm. I've been drawing and painting for as long as I can remember. I first started thinking of art as a career after seeing John Byrne's drawings in the comic book Uncanny X-men in 1984. Two years later I bought my first role-playing game, Dungeons & Dragons, impressed by the art by Larry Elmore and Jeff Easley. In high school I studied languages and art and I later went to Academy of Art College in San Fransisco for one semester. Apart from that I'm self taught. I take influences from a lot of artists though - Larry Elmore, John Byrne, Jim Lee, Frank Miller, Bernie Wrightson and Charles Vess are but a few. I've yet to develop a style that's all my own but instead I'll change the style to fit the project or to what the art director needs. In 2000 I started to do freelance fanzine work, art and articles for Sweden's largest gaming hobby magazine, Codex. In 2003 I began to freelance professionally and landed my first gig doing art for JAGS Games. ![]() Name: Daniel Schenström Born: 1974 Location: Enköping, Sweden Favorite role-playing games: Amber, Castle Falkenstein, TORG and AD&D Favorite artists: Robh Ruppel, John Byrne, Berni Wrightson and Larry Elmore.
